A field guide to the people who make the night sky meaningful.

Stellar People Guide

Write for us

We welcome pitches that help a general reader notice, understand or enjoy the night sky. Send proposals through the Contact page, with a clear subject and a short explanation of the reader's takeaway.

What we are looking for

Strong proposals focus on one manageable question: a constellation's shape, a skywatching habit, an astronomical idea explained in plain language, or the history and meaning attached to a celestial pattern. We also consider reflective pieces about shared observation, provided they offer a specific subject rather than general inspiration.

A useful pitch

Tell us the working angle, why it suits Stellar People Guide, what a reader will understand or be able to notice, and what sources or experience inform the piece. A brief outline is helpful. Please mention any relevant interests or commercial ties that could affect how readers interpret the contribution.

Voice and boundaries

Write with care, clarity and room for uncertainty. Avoid unsupported claims, inflated wonder and assumptions that every reader has equipment or dark skies nearby. We do not seek professional advice or claims that require readers to rely on a writer's credentials.

How to propose

Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please submit a pitch rather than a completed article unless we have agreed otherwise; a submission is not a promise of publication.

Our point of view

The sky belongs to everyone who looks up.

A little orientation can turn a scattered field of stars into a place to explore. We pair clear explanations with attention to the ways people have looked upward together.
